Ayu-Nasha's Engagement
Another one hubby and wifey to be! My childhood friends, Ayu and Nasha engaged yesterday (on Friday). As a sole friend of them exists here,[others are struggling for their final exam, and working] I was very excited to be their guest. Despite, I was quite shy because I didn’t be there (Ayu’s house) for such a long time :P It was actually my lepak place and a centre of mengadu keboringan during the boring practical period in 2003. [Finally I could be in my fren's ceremony after missing Linda's wedding : same date with my second final exam paper!]
Since my parents went to Tumpat, so I had to attend the engagement alone. Ayu's mom [I call her Maa] asked me, "Just you alone? Where's the others?". Maybe she referred to my Mom [Mom is her friend]. I told her my Mom went to Tumpat. And then, Ayu asked me "Where's he?". What he? I thought she got brain damage because of the ceremony.
As immediate as I reached, they (Ayu’s parents) asked me to eat. I joined a makcik and her family, enjoyed the feast and talked to each other. [didn’t my shyness gone?].
Just after I washed my hand, the situation was in a bit muddle. Lucky I did finish my food as Nasha’s family arrived. I had no idea where to go, so I ran to a room where Ayu was in, and her father too :P I was sitting like a stupid while she and her father were changing clothes :P
Suddenly the other friend of Ayu’s entered the room [Ayu’s daddy gone already]. I didn’t know ‘em. They’re Ayu’s colleagues at HUSM. And I was like a black sheep. I tried to talk to ‘em, but maybe because they were in a group and I am a sole outsider so we can’t mixed each other. [Ayu realized that :P]
Nasha’s family made different method when they asked for the engagement ceremony before the feast. A little mix up, Ayu was in the room and still not finishes her make-up! I wish I could join them doll up Ayu but it’s okay, I’m waiting for Miah,Naa&Norly to come back on Ayu’s wedding… :P
Nasha looked not handsome and Ayu was also looks dull. HaHa! Just joking.
Maa came in and took her out to a throne surrounded by passing goods [barang hantaran?]. The ring exchange ceremony started as Ayu sat there. Nasha’s mother put the ring in Ayu’s finger and Ayu’s father did the same thing to Nasha. And they were declared.. fiancé and fiancée. The parents then discussed about the wedding date and Ayu was holding butterflies in her stomach. She told me she didn’t see anything but the ‘pelamin’. Cheh!
They ate and I joined ‘em [I did not eat, just sat in the group]. You can guess what happened… “Long bila lagi?” “Lepas ni Long la pula” “Cepat-cepat la sikit Long”.
I answered with smiles for the common questions for a spinster like me. [No heart feeling la.. what to do what to say la kan..] It's a long story.
I went home at 6.30 pm. Wish I could be in their wedding, somewhere in November. Wish I could be back [macam konfem dapat je keje kat Sarawak tu], and be their bridesmaid!
I'm quite sad. I'm gonna lost my best friends. They are my bestfriends. After marriage, I can't kacau them anymore la. Wish their relationship will last forever and full of Allah's blessing.
