nenek's birthday
27th february is nenek's birthday. as usual, we celebrate our family members' birthday every year. but this one's gonna be a suprise party!
yesterday evening, my parents asked me to wrap nenek's birthday present. it was a set of clothes. i tried to decorate the wrapper like what the girl at gift shop did, but i failed :P it was like a crumple paper. mom prepared fried bihun while my pak teh booked sate. my makcik bought a cake.
they (nenek's children:mom,pakteh & makcik xcept makngah. makngah is in kedah. miss her a lot) decided to have the party at our house to make it a suprise one. usually we conduct the party at pakteh's house or makcik's but because nenek lives with pak teh & makcik's house just next to pak teh's so we changed the venue. but, it was a little bit fuss when nenek saw pak teh & mak teh were making up like wanna go out. she asked 'em and pak teh simply said that they're gonna have dinner at my house. then nenek wanna follow! my cousin then sent nenek to our house. but, i don't know, maybe God's will, she finally dropped by tok su's house next to my house. phew~
mak teh & kids arrived after maghrib, followed by makcik & ngah & kids. we were very busy preparing the meal & dishes in the kitchen. suddenly nenek arrived with tok su and asked us what is happening. we told her "saje nak makan-makan".
dad, pak teh, pakcik, nenek and tok su were chatting in the living room while we were preparing the cake in the kitchen (it was planned). suddenly, the light was off.(my cousin, abg fadhil turned off the main swicth) and i heard nenek said "eh, takde api plak". then... "ALLAH SELAMATKAN KAMU....ALLAH SELAMATKAN KAMU...ALLAH SELAMATKAN NENEK...ALLAH SELAMATKAN KAMU..." hehe. we did it! nenek did not know our plan until the Allah Selamatkan Kamu song. we switched on the power back, dad recited doa and all of us gave our salam+presents to nenek and wished her happy birthday. she's 65. a single mom to her so-called 4 kiddies and single granny to us. may nenek livelonger, blessed with good health and able to see her greatgrandchildren!

we couldn't finish the meal. it was too much. 350 cucuk sates, 5 big bowls of mihun, nut, wafer, etc... oh, it were the newcomers, che su and kids. but the food is still unfinished. we gave it to the neighbours. and kept some for breakfast, tomorrow morning. my house was like karnival tv*tooot*. lucky we have no next door neighbour (lintah dalam sawah padi ade la), if not..sure they'd get heartattack because of the uprising sound. my house was like a tadika with 20+ kiddies playing around. thanks God they didn't break anyting.
and owh, it was also to celebrate my cousin, atikah a.k.a tah's 6th birthday.
washing dishes is the most boring work. cos it was too many plates! haha! but ngah helped me. it was like a big kenduri. i told mak teh, my kenduri nanti (not too soon, later okay) i don't wanna invite anybody, our family is more than enough. nanananana~ just kidding :P
alhamdulillah, i'm blessed with such that very happy family and hope our strong relationship getting stronger as the time goes by.
the party was over at 10. and i did not miss my the apprentice!(does tijah write the review?)
