PD Trip - 3 Oct

It was not so exciting going to PD (first impression). Moreover, my osmet & I were the very last person to reach at the bus garage in front of Lembaran (cos I left lots of things & had to go back to the room to take them). Departed from UTP at 7.30, the journey was… err… I have no idea cos I was dark! (Sleep).

We arrived Hotel Seri Malaysia PD at 1.10. I took a space for myself in the surau (sleep again) after prayed Zuhur jamak takdim with Asar and qasar (The room was not ready yet for us to be in). Reminded to gather back at 2.30, I was expected “We will be taken to have lunch”. But it was “Why don’t you take your lunch? We went to the stalls nearby by ourselves”. “Oh, I thought it was provided”. Nah! So hungry!

2.30, went to Corus Resort. The attention converged to a lagoon behind the hotel. It was a ‘beautiful’ man-made lagoon (I have no idea why my lecturer was so excited to study this lagoon). But I was pleased by the pre-cast concrete revetment (For the first time I know it is called revetment). The lagoon was actually dredged, and then they put geo membrane at the bottom of the pond as a separator, maybe (I was mesmerized by the scene of Hawaiian-like during the briefing session). Then, river sand was used to create the bank. Why using river sand although the structure is very close to the sea? Because sea sand is too fine and very flexible due to the influence of the wind. Then several of us went to the bottom of the lagoon, taking a piece of geo membrane (for our Advance Construction Materials assignments). I felt bored because of 2 reasons, first, I didn’t like the structure and 2nd, I was sooooooooooooooooo hunggggggggryyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!! huhu!

Back to hotel at 4.30… I felt nothing but hungry. My stomach was crumble. It was like ‘I’m going to faint sooner’. Told, 5 p.m. gather for the next activity. Suddenly a boy called telling it was 5.30. Whatever, I hoped it would be cancelled! 5.30 went to the lobby. It was nobody and the bus had gone! Fortunately it was still not so far so we ‘kejar’ the bus.

The bus took us to a beach at Si Rusa (what the hell it name is, I`m not sure). We (marine studs) were divided into four groups (joined the jrs). They (my classmates) were having their happy time at Pulau Burung while I am standing in front of the shoreline, talking to Mr. Tehh and the 3 local Chinese girls. (Initially I talk to them in English, how could I know they don’t know English!).

It was sunset when we left the beach. I clean up myself and prepared to go out for dinner. The hotel manager took us to a makan-makan place (Mak Mah or what.. it’s name.. forgotten la). I had a plate of nasik puteh + sambal sotong + sayo + telur masin. Bleh tahan gak la harganya, RM 3.90! Just after my stomach stopped mumbling, my eyes couldn’t stay any longer. After attempting to call ring2 card several time using hotel phone (how idiot!), good nite PD!
